What happens when geographically dispersed authors discover they don't only write in the middle grade space but infuse the rich mythology, folklore and legend of their diverse, cultural backgrounds into their Middle Grade Fantasy books? ...A beautiful alliance is formed and a golden opportunity is born.
Representation in books is on the rise and conversations of the importance of representation are at the forefront like never before. Cultural diversity in Middle Grade Fantasy is slowly making its mark as writers choose to honour their cultural heritage and ancestors through crafting original fantasy stories which infuse the legend, myth and folklore of their own cultures.
Join us as 4 authors, each of South-East Asian culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds get together on the virtual stage to discuss their books and writing journeys that are leading the charge in the Middle Grade diverse fantasy space!
